REVIEW

April 7, 2000

This CD is an earlier Promo CD of the music that appears on Futureland TYCY-5361. It has only 10 tracks versus the the 21 appearing on the other CD. It also runs about 15 minutes shorter. The CD appears to be a digital port of an earlier LP since the sheet inside lists tracks 1-5 as Side 1 and tracks 6-10 as Side 2. Music CD's only have one side (for now).

In my opinion this CD is actually a case of where less is better. With only 10 tracks we seem to get the best without things getting dragged out and themes being repeated too often. The music here seems fresh and closely resembles the style Akira Ifukube set in earlier movies. I actually preferred this CD over the longer one. Both are good. If you can find either one, pick it up. Both CD's are now out of print.
