"Save the Earth" lyrics written and sung by Adryan Russ (1 min. 50 secs) that appears on Everyone Has A Story: The Songs Of Adryan Russ on PAGE 2: GODZILLA RELATED CD's on this site.

Animals... God's animals,
Don't go away... don't go
Flowers, my flowers,
Don't go away... don't go

The sea has cobalt
It's full of mercury
Too many fumes in our oxygen
All the smog now
is choking you and me
Good Lord, when is it gonna end?

Got to get it back - some day
Got to get it back and soon now
For tomorrow maybe you and me
We're movin', we're movin', movin' to the moon now.

It's up to us to make a choice
We know what it's worth
to save the er-earth
Come raise your voice

Save the earth (Save the earth)
Save the earth (Save the earth)

See the evil problem around us

Save the earth (Save the earth)
Save the earth (Save the earth)

I'm the solution - Sto-op pollution

Save the earth (Save the earth)
Save the earth (Save the earth)
Save the earth

I'm the solution to stop pollution

Save the earth
Save the earth
Save the earth

Here we have yet another composer taking a stab at scoring a Godzilla movie. This time it's Richiro Manabe. Track #2 here is the same song known in the U.S. release as "Save The Earth". Here it's called "Give Back the Sun" and is sung in Japanese. Track #12 is a short female vocal while Track #15 sounds the same as Track #2. Track #24 believe it or not starts off with something that sounds like either a frog croaking or someone farting. Actually this track incorporates or provides the dissolving sound effect for the victims of the flying form of Hedora. If you've seen the movie that track and sound effect is pretty horrific (and it's rated "G"??!!) As the people dissolve gruesomely, it sounds sort of like rubbing 2 balloons together slowly.

We do get a pretty full disc here with it clocking in at just over 54 minutes and 60 tracks. Unfortunately most of the music on this disc is easily forgettable. The Godzilla movies of the late 60's and most of the 70's were getting pretty bad and low budget when compared to the movies done in the 50's and early 60's and again in the mid 1980's through 1995. A lot of the music on this disc has a psychedelic quality to it. We no longer get the big name composers like Akira Ifukube or Masaru Satoh and it shows. Tracks # 53 through 58 are Karaoke versions of "Give Back The Sun". Tracks # 47, 50 & 51 are male chorus versions of this same song while track # 59 is the "record" version. Do we Really need this many versions of the same song? Enough already! Most of the rest of this CD is a constant rehash of about three different themes.

This disc starts out as an OK listening experience but by the end of it you're ready to scream and pull your hair out due to the repetition. This certainly isn't the worst soundtrack to the series but definitely ranks in the bottom 5. I have been asked this before so will state it here: "There is NO English version of "Save The Earth" aka "Give Back The Sun" on this CD!". There is an English version of the song on the CD Everyone Has A Story: The Songs Of Adryan Russ on PAGE 2: GODZILLA RELATED CD's on this site.

KAESE TAIYO O (Return, The Sun!)
Lyrics: Banno Yoshimitsu
Music: Manabe Riichiro
Vocal: Fujiyama Miki (Mari Keiko)

Islands... fish... where've you gone?
Dragonflies... butterflies... where've you gone?
Mercury cobalt cadmium
Lead sulfuric-acid oxidants
Cyanogen manganese vanadium
Chromium potassium strontium
Filthy polluted sea, filthy polluted air
Living things will no longer exist
Fields... mountains...
Become silent
On The Earth there is nobody
Nobody around who can cry
Return! Return! Return! Return!
Green... blue skies... return!
Return! Return! Return!
Blue seas... return! Return!
Return! Return! Return! Return!
Life... The Sun... Return!
Return! Return! Return! Return! Return!
