| REVIEW |
This first disc in the set is the hardest to listen to. The tracks are in mono and there is a lot of background noise in most of the tracks. Of course since the source material is from 1943 to 1952 this is somewhat expected. The other reason is that about half the tracks have a lot of movie dialogue which makes hearing the music behind the speaking difficult. This is especially true for track #11 which has a woman crying and weeping dialogue throughout the piece. It's too bad too because track #11 is one of the better ones on this disc with the background music being very reminiscient of Ravel's "Bolero". |
