| REVIEW |
July 30, 2000 The KOTO is a Japanese string instrument. This CD is comprised of music composed by Akira Ifukube for that instrument and played here by Keiko Nosaka. This CD only has three tracks. Track #1, "Pipa Xing", was probably my least favorite on the CD. The music is slow and somewhat plodding in nature. Also some of the notes played sound like a badly out of tune guitar. Track #2, "Chant De La Serinde", was my favorite. It's a lovely, slow, instrumental version of a song we have heard on a variety of "Mothra" movie soundtracks. Track #3, "Kugo-Ka", is a medium tempo number and also very enjoyable. Overall this was a very pleasant, relaxing, listening experience. |
