July 13, 2008 This is a five track promotional disc for the 1996 Mothra movie. The music here is great and in my opinion surpasses the movie it's for. We no longer have twin fairies but instead have fairy sisters known as the Elias. This disc start out with track # 5 from the full CD PCCR-00244 elsewhere on this site. It'an upbeat version of the original Mothra song sung by the Elias. The 2nd track on this disc is the same as Track # 9 on the full CD and gives us a more mellow tribute song to Mothra also sung by the girls. Track three here is the same as Track # 14 on the full disc. This is another very beautifully done infectious vocal track. The fourth track here is the same as track 15 on the full CD and the last track is the same as track 20. While this CD won't make you forget the Akira Ifukube originals, Toshiyuki Watanabe has done a really nice job of scoring this movie and giving us a very listenable CD that holds up well as a stand-alone piece. |
