REVIEW

This is a really ambitious, well done, hard to find and expensive box set of CD's. I bought my copy for $250 plus shipping back in late November. The set itself is pretty impressive. It comes in a black box with gold lettering. The box itself is a little larger than an LP and about 2 inches thick. Inside is foam padding with cuttouts for the three (3) jewel cases pictured below. Disc 1 contains 4 CD's and Disc 2 & Disc 3 contain three CD's each. There is also a color booklet (pictured above) that measures approx. 12 inches by 12 inches. The book is 18 pages long and contains many small black & white pictures and a lot of info on the various discs. All writing is in Japanese. The outside and inside of the cover contain color pictures. There is also a one page red sheet of paper with the disc numbers and track titles. There's a Laser Disc on the making Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah that mostly shows Akira Ifukube and the orchestra scoring the movie.

Now, about the music on these 10 discs. I must say I was somewhat disappointed with this set. A set called "King Of The Monsters" to my way of thinking should be all about Godzilla and his friends and foes. Only about 20% of this set deals with Godzilla. Another disc is devoted entirely to the early Gamera films and the rest are divided up among movies most of us have never heard of. While there was plenty of good music here, there was also a lot I really didn't care much about. When you click on each disc below, I'll give my review and impressions on each disc.
